I am a self taught artist and have been painting for a number of years. I originally started by undertaking and achieving an A-Level in Art through evening classes many years ago and then undertook postal tuition with professional artists here in U.K. .
In recent years I have concentrated mainly on miniature paintings and have sold my work to purchasers as far afield as Russia, USA, and Europe. At present my miniatures are exhibited and sold through Sheringham Collectables, Sheringham, Norfolk, exclusively.
Retirement has given me the opportunity and time to paint miniatures for Dolls House enthusiasts and collectors of miniatures.
Recently I have become interested in naive art being influenced by the work of L. S. Lowry and other contemporary artists here in this country.
I try to capture and convey local scenes near my home in Norfolk, and places of interest whilst on holiday. The holiday season provides me with subject matter especially as holiday makers descend on my home town and let their ‘hair’ down and relax providing some interesting characters.
Working mostly in watercolour and mixed media when the subject matter lends itself to another additional medium to be used, I manage to convey the colourful subjects and locations before me.
Member of the Association of British Naive Artists.
My wife, Janet has recently been producing some eye catching abstract pieces of art using acrylic and Dutch pour techniques in order to produce her individualistic style of work, which can be viewed in Room 3.
